Zone 2 Extention on the Burwood Tram Line

DUSA on Burwood campus is campaigning to have zone 2 extended along tram Route 75 past the front of campus. Currently, students coming from the city must buy a ticket for zone one and two, to travel just a few extra stops. Public transport should be as accessible as possible, especially for those who most need it. Lets make public transport accessible and equitable. Its just silly to pay more money to use public transport as an international.. Paying an extra 5 for 3 stops is silly.. Deakin uni is probably one of the popular stops along 75s tram line. Making it accessible for students that study there everyday is a must,

Yes. The concession should give to all students.

Apart from doing this, they should give concession to ALL students, not just locals. International students pay so much higher school fees and yet we still have to pay full fare for tram/train/bus tickets. It costs $10.10 ONE day to go to the city!!!

The ticket inspectors get on for the few stops that are in zone 2 just to book people who maybe waiting a few stops to buy a zone 1 ticket. It's an unfortunate zoning.

Use of public transport should be encouraged with reasonable cost and real accessibility. As it stands, students travelling from the city are forced to buy a ticket for an extra zone for just a few stops.

This just makes sense

Students already have enough fees and expenses to deal with. Deakin at Burwood is a major stop on the route and expecting the lowest income earning passengers (students) to pay more for a few extra stops is irresponsible and greedy.

International students aren't recognised as students even though they're studying full time, they are already expected to pay double the price of other students. So expecting them, and others, to realistically find money to buy an extra tram ticket for only five stops!!!Deakin is a main stop on the route.

I ride to campus but so often when i pass the Deakin tram stop i spot ticket inspectors preying on hapless international students who figure they've got a raw deal and are trying in any way to beat the system! "City Of Melbourne - DO THE RIGHT THING!!!"

It's annoying that I have to travel a fair distance to get to Deakin, if Deakin is a popular stop it should be part of zone one!!

This tram line is disadvantaged enough as one of only two consisting partly of zone 2. The tram always nearly empties and fills at Deakin, we make up a large part of the fares along this section of route 75 and should not be burdened by the increased price. Route 70 reaches to Elgar Rd without changing zone.

It's VERY expensive to come to Uni from Ivanhoe (Where I live). I need a part time job to support it's cost (as it is a main one). To study as well as a full time student is very hard and effects my success in the course I am currently undertaking.
