Frustrated with Public Transport in Geelong?
Tired of missing your bus? Don't just talk about it, do something about it! For a start - we think that the number 18 bus should run on time, and in the hours we use it! If you want to use a better service, use your voice and get involved in the campaign by signing the petition or coming to a meeting.

Yeah, you've got to leave well before you need to be there, too bad if you're in a rush, it is a nightmare! |

Yes! It's hard to get from the station to Waurn Ponds campus, improved services would really be of benefit to students making the trek on public transport. |

Being underage I rely solely on public transport to ge tto and from university. I had to change my entire timetable around because I couldn't get to an 8am lecture at Waurn Ponds because the buses don't start until 8:10 am. I'm not the only person, many others in my unit are having to do the same thing. i spend enough on public transport, I don't want to have to pay for taxi's too! |

The only reason I drive to University and hand over the excessive amount of cash for parking is that it is far more reliable then the public transport in this town!! |

I always have to wait an hour to get the train to melbourne because the deakin express stops at 5 pm. It should be working up to 6 pm. |

I share your frustrations. I suggest to others to get off the trains from melbourne at South Geelong station, rather than geelong station. There is no extra cost. From South Geelong walk towards the big football stadium, crossing the road and walk the block to High St, and wait at the bus stop opposite to the stadium (a carpet retailer is on the corner). The number 18 bus goes past here (after the Geelong station and Waterfront on its return to Deakin) and does stop at the stop. Walk briskly and you will meet the bus. This gives an extra 5 minutes or more so don't need the taxi. If you miss No. 18 the No. 16 bus to Deakin will stop here and you will stiill get there (it will take approx.5-10min longer). If you want a bus when the No.18 is not running (early morning, late afternoon) then access the No.16 from this stop (it does not connect with trains, but does run about every 30min if you are desperate to avoid taxi fare. Hope this helps some of you- disembarking trains at South Geelong definitely makes life easier for me. |

How about a bus that runs from Corio Village out to Waurn Ponds via the new ring road? would save me alot of trouble. |

When I was in QLD the busses ran every 10 minutes. Though they were a bit late, but that's a small price to pay. In VIC I have to wait at least 50 mins because they only run 2 buses for some (or all?) routes. |
