Frustrated with parking on the Waterfront Campus
Do you find that you can't get a park at Waterfront no matter what time you arrive? Does it frustrate you that the “Deakin Patrons Only” rule isn’t enforced? If so, join the campaign and help us do something about it!

aargh, this one really makes me angry! It's so wqrong that students pay for permits only to be unable most days to actually get a park due to city workers using them. Deakin needs to introduce a scan card system and only those with Deakin cards can access parking tickets. |

Some of us have to drive to campus, I've been there at 9am and still struggled to find a park - it could be so easily fixed if the Deakin Only rule was just enforced! |

I am becoming increasingly frustrated at the dearth of car parking spaces at Waterfront campus. As a struggling student I refuse to cry poor, but I won't refuse to be silent on this issue; why did I spend $180 dollars on a parking sticker only to waste on average 30 minutes a day circling the Waterfront carpark, and at times leaving in fury at the situation and parking in the street (rsiking hefty fines) or leaving uni altogether and driving the 40 minutes home? I paid $180 for a park taht doesn't exist, I then los eout on attending lectures and tutes (which I am also paying for), or pay for a street park and possible a fine. At what stage is that fair? How can Deakin justify this and what are they going to do about this? |

I second the call for the deakin id scan system. Yesterday I arrived at 9am and there were only 4 parks in the whole carpark. We need more spaces. In the mean time make students aware when the university is running expos and handing out parking permits to exhibition workers as this again reduces the number of parks available some people could possibly car pool with a bit of organisation on the part of Deakin admin team. |

Tired of trying to get a park, I wait sometimes up to an hour until I finally give up and pay for a $3 per hour park. What a waste of $200 for a deakin parking permit. |

Here's a suggestion, why hasn't the multi-level carpark been considered? Even adding another level should do. |
