The option to submit assessments electronically would make the lives of off-campus students, or students that live far from campus, much easier! If you live in WA and you want to submit an assignment, you have to post it with enough time to get to campus by the due date. This is inequitable and not at all student friendly. Also, electronic submissions is in line with Deakin's direction as a flexible, accessible, technology driven University.

As a person who does not loive close to my campus, I find it very stressful to have to drive to put in my assignments on time, especially when my assignments are always due on days where I don't have any classes and often they are due on days where I lose 5 days if I try and put it in by my last on-campus class before the assignment is due. Online submission would greatly HELP!

sooo expensive printing stuff out - also bad for the environment

Wow I'm shocked that the current policy seems to be that assignments must arrive in the mail by the due date rather then be sent at the latest on the due date. Hopefully I can work something out with the course coordinators

I have studied externally for over 30 years and it's only been in the last 2 years I've enjoyed the bonus of electronic submission at another university. What a bonus that has been: being able to submit as late as 11:59PM on the due date, and from the comfort of my home. Years ago I ran the 'minefield' of lost mail, late mail and having to justify where assignments were. It's heartbreaking to have good work go to waste. It's imperative to use the technologies we have to ensure all students are given fair treatment in this area.

Anyone else doing SIT262? Anyone else think that paper submissions for digital files is obviously flawed?

help prevent global warming by not printing papers!

Electronic submissions have been available for most of my subjects for some time now. the weird part is that the paper copies were also required to be submitted but glad to see that has ceased for the last 2 semesters.

If Deakin expects us to not only have assignments due in exam time because they ditched study week, AND sit exams at Box Hill Town Hall rather than Burwood itself, then why should we have to go all the way to the uni during our 'study time' just to hand in something that could be emailed in two minutes!!

I agree 100%. When I was completely 1st Year Health Subjects, I was able to submit my assignments electronically, which allowed me to hand in my assignments ON the due date. This contrasts most psychology subjects which require assignments to be posted roughly TWO days before the due date, to ensure they are received on the due date. I have my assignments completed on time, but the last minute questions on DSO that are asked by on-campus students, allows fellow on-campus students to tweak their assignments, however the off-campus students miss out.
